Born and raised on Chicago’s South Side, STARLET is a powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist known for her exceptional vocals, musical versatility and natural ability to connect with audiences. Coming from a musical family, she began singing in her grandfather’s church at just two years old and has been performing ever since. With influences spanning R&B, soul, pop, jazz and gospel, Starlet has developed a sound shaped by passion, authenticity and storytelling, with a timeless, cross-generational quality and genre versatility that allow her music to resonate across audiences. In addition to being a vocalist, she is a pianist and guitarist and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music.

A songwriter and producer as well as a performer, Starlet wrote, arranged and produced all nine songs on her debut album, Take a Chance on Love. The album is a collection of relatable, timeless songs that tell stories about the journey of loving others, loving yourself and loving God.

Throughout her career, Starlet has performed across a variety of stages and platforms throughout Chicago and beyond, building a diverse performance résumé spanning live music, festivals, cultural events and television. She has performed alongside Academy Award, Emmy and Grammy-winning artist Common and shared stages with Grammy Award winner Le’Andria Johnson and acclaimed R&B artist Syleena Johnson.

In February 2026, Starlet was featured on The Jennifer Hudson Show, where she performed her original music, marking a significant milestone in her career and bringing her artistry to a national television audience.

Now entering a new chapter of her artistry, Starlet continues to create music centered on connection, authenticity and storytelling. Her new music, including the single “Back to You,” brings that evolution into focus through a contemporary R&B sound grounded in soulful musicianship, warmth and groove.
